Alexandru Adrian Iovescu

Vice-President of Timis County Council

Alexandru Adrian Iovescu is Vice President of the Timiș County Council, a position he has held since 2024. His professional experience spans public administration, European-funded projects, regional and local development, with a strong focus on community development, social inclusion and the implementation of sustainable local strategies.

Over the years, he has coordinated and managed several local development initiatives, including projects implemented through the Timișul de Centru Local Action Group, where he served as both Manager and President of the Board of Directors. He has also served as President of the Freidorf Local Action Group, coordinating initiatives aimed at combating poverty and social exclusion through integrated community-led local development. His experience also includes serving as a Timiș County Councillor and working on European initiatives dedicated to smart villages, rural development and the digitalisation of agriculture.

Alexandru Iovescu holds a degree in International Relations and European Studies from the West University of Timișoara and postgraduate studies in Political Management. He has also completed specialised training in project management, European Structural and Cohesion Funds, community development facilitation and social services management. His expertise includes European funding, project coordination, stakeholder engagement and the development and implementation of local and regional development strategies.
