Simon Alexandru Pescari

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Simon Alexandru Pescari serves as Vice-Rector for Investments, Patrimony and Sustainable Development at the Politehnica University of Timișoara and is President of the University’s Board of Directors. A faculty member of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, his academic expertise focuses on sustainable buildings, energy efficiency, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and digital technologies in civil engineering.


He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering, with research dedicated to the energy performance of buildings and sustainable development. Throughout his academic career, he has contributed to numerous national and European research projects and has authored scientific publications in the fields of sustainable construction, circular economy, and innovative engineering solutions.


As Vice-Rector, Dr. Pescari coordinates the University’s strategic infrastructure investments, campus modernization projects, and sustainability initiatives, promoting environmentally responsible development and energy-efficient facilities. Since 2024, he has also served as President of the Board of Directors of Politehnica Timișoara Football Club, contributing to its strategic development and supporting the revival of football in Timișoara.

His leadership reflects a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and responsible governance, contributing to UPT’s position as a leading European technical university.
