Dr. Eng. Cristian Erbașu is a Romanian engineer, entrepreneur and one of the leading representatives of Romania’s construction and investment community. He is the CEO of Construcții Erbașu, President of the Romanian Federation of Construction Employers (FPSC) and President of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Investors of Romania (CAIR).
He graduated from the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest with a degree in Civil Engineering and later earned a PhD in Technical Sciences from the same university. His academic background in engineering has provided a strong foundation for a professional career closely connected to the development of Romania’s construction industry.
Throughout his career, Cristian Erbașu has combined engineering expertise and entrepreneurship with extensive involvement in employers’ organizations and social dialogue.
As President of FPSC, the representative employers’ federation for Romania’s construction sector, he is actively involved in promoting the interests of construction companies and professionals and in strengthening dialogue between the private sector and public authorities. His activity addresses some of the industry’s most important challenges, including public investment, infrastructure development, workforce availability and professional training, taxation, construction costs, legislation, digitalization, sustainability and the long-term competitiveness of Romanian contractors.
His involvement extends beyond the construction industry through his role as President of CAIR – the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Investors of Romania. Through this organization, he contributes to strengthening the representation of entrepreneurs and investors and to promoting structured social dialogue between the business community, employees and the state.
Through both FPSC and CAIR, Cristian Erbașu advocates for a stronger partnership between the business community and public institutions, based on predictability, responsibility and a better understanding of the realities faced by companies and investors.
Alongside his institutional roles, he continues to lead Construcții Erbașu, one of Romania’s major privately owned construction companies with 100% Romanian capital, bringing to employers’ organizations the perspective of an entrepreneur directly involved in delivering large-scale and complex projects.
His professional and institutional activity reflects a broader commitment to contributing not only to the development of individual projects and companies, but also to building a stronger, more competitive and sustainable Romanian construction industry and business environment.
